The international appearance of the Omicron variant and associated travel restrictions has prompted a reconsideration of the Light + Building plans. Light + Building 2022, which the lighting industry is eagerly waiting for, has been postponed to October 2-6, 2022 due to the worsening pandemic conditions all over the world.

As the pandemic situation continues to evolve very dynamically, Messe Frankfurt has decided to postpone Light + Building, the world’s leading trade fair for light and building technology, until autumn 2022.

Intense discussions with customers and collaboration partners last December led to the exploration of alternatives to the original date. All options were reviewed and new dates were set.

Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, said: “We took our partners’ concerns very seriously and of course weighed the opportunities and risks as well. As previously announced, all options were being reviewed for a new date in December. Fortunately, we were able to find an attractive autumn date. This means that the prospect of a strong, international industry launch in Frankfurt in 2022 remains.”
