LED Production Stopped in China Due to Coronavirus

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, the Chinese Central Government extended the new year holiday until February 3, 2020. Local governments also take measures against the Coronavirus to the extreme. Production at the factories was stopped until February 10, 2020, and this period can be extended.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, the Chinese Central Government extended the new year holiday until February 3, 2020.

The Coronavirus infected more than 7,700 people, killing 170 people. However, as a precaution, the Council of State has taken a decision to extend the Chinese new year holiday.

Local governments in different states also take measures against the Coronavirus to the extreme. For example; local government in Zhejiang, which is 660 km away from Wuhan, decided to extend the  holiday until February 10, 2020.

Many LED manufacturers operate in the region and all of these companies cooperate with the authority. Production at the factories was stopped until February 10, 2020, and this period can be extended.

LED manufacturers send an e-mail message to their customers for delayed deliveries. The producers promise that they will make great efforts to minimize the impact of losses due to this situation when the factories reopen.

The previously unknown virus caused global anxiety because of its similarity to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) pathogen that killed hundreds of people in China and Hong Kong in 2002-2003.

British Airways and Lufthansa Group decided to stop all flights to China due to the epidemic. Air India and Indigo announced that they have stopped some flights to China. Air Canada company also stopped all flights to Beijing and Shanghai until the end of February. On the other hand, Turkish Airlines announced that the evaluations are continuing and has not taken any action yet.

Many countries are working hard to evacuate their citizens from Wuhan.
