SABER is a new online computer system that facilitates certification in trade to Saudi Arabia. The long-term plan for SABER is to replace SASO by customs control of all products entering Saudi Arabia, thereby becoming a single system.

SABER electronic platform protects the consumer against products that do not meet the specifications and reduces fraudulent products. It accelerates the entry of the product to the market by shortening customs procedures on the Saudi Arabia side.

SASO first launched the SABER system on January 1, 2019. In the next process, SABER system has been made mandatory for various products.

SABER connects importers, certification bodies and Saudi customs and trade officials. SABER’s aim is to quickly evaluate products shipped to Saudi Arabia, increase the number of SASO approved products, and reduce counterfeit products. SABER system makes the products to enter the country more easily tracked.

SABER system main features;

Online product registration and approval,
Electronic access to compliance documents,
Speeding up the regulation process,
Reducing fraud and manipulation,
Elimination of unsuitable products,
Providing additional consumer protection.

As of January 1, 2020, it has become mandatory to send the certificates of conformity for the customs clearance of the products to be exported to Saudi Arabia via the SABER platform.

Exporters can add product information by logging into the SABER system. In the next step, documents such as test reports and shipping documents showing that the products are reliable are uploaded to the system.
