After the coronavirus outbreak spread to Europe, the organization company Messe Franfkurt decided to postpone Light + Building, the biggest fair in the lighting industry, to September 2020. The fair was planned to take place between 8-13 March 2020.

After the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease also appeared in Italy, the fair organizer Messe Frankfurt had to rethink together with the health department. Travel restrictions and the need for comprehensive health check put Messe Frankfurt under great burden.

Prior to the postponement decision, Signify, one of the largest manufacturers of the lighting industry, announced that it would not participate in the fair due to coronavirus concerns. This announcement is thought to trigger the decision to postpone. Because the organization company has been pressuring for a long time to cancel or postpone due to the coronavirus outbreak. Against pressures and rumors; Messe Frankfurt replied no delay or cancellation.

Light + Building is scheduled to take place in mid-end or end of September 2020. The exact date of the event has not been announced yet.
